The Prescott Police Department has announced that they will be participating in the Tri-City DUI Task Force saturation patrols over the New Years weekend. This initiative is made possible through grant funding provided by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

The Tri-City DUI Task Force, which consists of multiple law enforcement agencies, aims to combat impaired driving and ensure the safety of motorists during this festive time. Extra enforcement will be in place on Sunday, December 31st, 2023.

In a statement, the Prescott Police Department emphasized the importance of driving sober and making responsible choices. They warned that driving under the influence is never worth the potential consequences, both financially and emotionally.

"Driving impaired is never worth the monetary loss or the physical and emotional devastation that can be caused by simply making that bad choice to drink and drive," said a spokesperson for the Prescott Police Department.

The Tri-City DUI Task Force will continue to conduct high-profile details throughout the year to address the issue of impaired driving in the community. They urge all motorists to either drive sober, designate a driver, or call a taxi to ensure their safety and the safety of others on the road.

As the New Year approaches, it is important for everyone to be aware of the potential dangers of impaired driving. The Prescott Police Department and the Tri-City DUI Task Force are committed to keeping the streets safe and reducing the number of alcohol-related incidents during this time.

Remember, if you plan on celebrating with alcohol this New Years, make sure to arrange for a safe way to get home. Let's start the year off right by prioritizing responsible choices and keeping our roads free from impaired drivers.
