Camp Verde Unified District welcomed 1,585 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,585 students enrolled in Camp Verde Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.9% less than the 1,616 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.7% of them were boys, and 49.3% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 52.5% of the Camp Verde Unified District total enrollment.

Camp Verde Unified District roughly covers schools within Yavapai County and has a main office in Camp Verde.

Among the five schools in Camp Verde Unified District, Camp Verde Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 681 students in the 2022-23 school year.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor marks for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.
