SEDONA, Ariz. – Beginning on July 29, 2024, the city and contractor HT4 Construction will commence construction to realign a small portion of Dry Creek Road. This project is part of a larger initiative to construct a shared-use path along the west side of Dry Creek Road, between Two Fence Trail and Thunder Mountain Road.

The road realignment is essential for keeping the pathway within the city’s right of way. The work will involve removing and replacing existing asphalt, clearing brush and trees, improving drainage, striping the roadway, and installing rock formations, handrails, and signage.

Starting Monday, crews will set up traffic control measures and begin preparation work for asphalt removal. Construction activities are scheduled from Monday through Thursday, between 6 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. One lane of traffic will remain open with a temporary traffic signal in place. Motorists should be prepared for construction equipment presence, lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, loud noise along Dry Creek Road, and short delays. Residents' driveway access will be maintained throughout the construction period.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 with additional shared-use pathway work to follow.
