Thursday Sept. 9, beginning at 12:45 p.m. you are invited to attend A Day of Remembrance in the Mori Hosseini Student Union Conference Center
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, the 9/11 Research and Remembrance Project at Embry-Riddle is hosting an afternoon of story sharing, discussion and dialog on Thursday, Sept. 9, followed by a moment-by-moment retelling of the events of 9/11 through the eyes of those directly involved.
These engaging sessions are hosted by campus groups, departments and colleges. From 12:45 to 5 p.m., panelists will share their memories and discuss topics related to the events of 9/11 in relationship to understanding why these events remain important today. Attend and participate in sessions on Aviation, Security, Veterans, Business & Industry, Technology, International Perspectives and Campus Life.
After a Reception from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., join us for Re-Witnessing 9/11. Faculty, staff and alumni will share their experiences in New York, the Pentagon and Pennsylvania. Presenters include a first responder called to the World Trade Center, the Chief Pilot for United’s New York Operations and the Air Traffic Manager for New York City.
