Enrollment Analysis: White students comprised 48.7% of Cottonwood-Oak Creek Elementary District’s student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 887 white students enrolled in Cottonwood-Oak Creek Elementary District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.3% less than the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that Cottonwood-Oak Creek Elementary District welcomed 1,822 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 48.7% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the district.

Cottonwood-Oak Creek Elementary District roughly covers schools within Yavapai County and has a main office in Cottonwood.

Among the five schools in Cottonwood-Oak Creek Elementary District, Dr Daniel Bright Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 281 students.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.
