The City of Prescott Public Works Department has received a $3,000,000 grant from the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority (WIFA). The City will provide matching funds of $750,000 or 25%.  The City intends to use this grant funding to assist in the upcoming Water Meter Replacement Program, the grant monies will fund the first two years of the 5-year program.

In April 2023, WIFA began accepting applications for their Water Conservation Grant Program, to use the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to support water conservation programs throughout Arizona. On May 9, 2023, the Public Works Department received approval from Prescott City Council to apply for the grant. After three rounds of review, on June 21, 2023, City of Prescott was awarded the maximum allowable amount of $3,000,000.
