After the Border Reinforcement Act of 2023 was voted out of the House Committee on Homeland Security early this morning, Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) issued the following statement:

"The immoral and nonsensical refusal by President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas to secure our border has resulted in a record-breaking crisis with far-reaching, deadly implications.

"This morning, I, along with my colleagues on the Homeland Security Committee, voted the Border Reinforcement Act of 2023 out of committee, advancing the bill for a full House Floor vote.

"The bill, most importantly, would continue the construction of President Trump’s border wall – the most vital piece of physical infrastructure in keeping Americans safe. It would also provide our courageous Border Patrol agents with modernized technologies as they protect our communities, mandate the hiring of 22,000 border patrol agents, alleviate CBP’s retention issues, support local law enforcement in border states, and combat overly lenient asylum processing, among implementing other security-bolstering measures.

"If the Biden administration won’t do its job, Congress will."
