Arizona’s Fourth Congressional District has secured more than $30 million in COVID-19 relief funding for its airports.
Prescott eNews reports grants from the CARES Act went to Bagdad E51, Buckeye Municipal BXK, Laughlin/Bullhead International IFP, Colorado City Municipal AZC, Cottonwood P52, Kingman IGM, Lake Havasu City HII, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway IWA, Pinal Airpark MZJ, Prescott Regional - Ernest A Love Field PRC, Wickenburg Municipal E25 and Yuma MCAS/Yuma International NYL. Phoenix-Mesa Gateway IWA received the largest amount of funding with $20,530,276 in grants.
“Arizona is one of the fastest growing places in America, and our airports are critical to our economic development and support thousands of jobs,” District 4 Rep. Paul Gosar said. “When I flew to DC to vote for the CARES Act, I knew the bill was far from perfect, but it would provide immediate relief to Arizona's hard-working employees, families, small businesses, and it would provide certainty to our economic future.”
