Eli Crane, U.S. Congressman representing Arizona's 2nd District, recently shared a series of statements on social media addressing various issues of public interest. Born in Tucson, Arizona in 1980, Crane has been serving in Congress since 2023, after succeeding Tom O'Halleran. His posts cover topics from government funding to the opacity of federal investigations, and praise for local officials.

In a brief statement posted on April 1, 2025, Crane expressed a pointed stance towards government spending measures, indicating his support for budgetary reductions with the simple message: "You had me at 'defund.'"

Later the same day, Crane raised concerns over the U.S. government's transparency regarding historical events, particularly highlighting the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He remarked on April 1, 2025, that “Decades later, we still don't have the full picture on JFK's assassination. Additionally, we know very little about Thomas Crooks and Ryan Routh. If we want to restore trust in the federal government, we cannot allow intel agencies to shield vital info from We the People.”

Crane also took time to acknowledge local efforts in his district. On the same day, April 1, 2025, he noted a productive meeting with officials in Eagar, Arizona, stating, “Today, my staff had the privilege of meeting with Vice Mayor Marsha Tucker and Community Development Director Britney Reynolds in Eagar. We appreciate their hard work and dedication! #AZ02”
