Recently, Representative Eli Crane announced Skanda "Jai" McCabe as the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Arizona's 2nd Congressional District. Jai, a 10th grader at Coconino High School in Flagstaff, AZ, has won this competition for the second consecutive year. He built his first gaming computer at age 11 and is enthusiastic about coding, programming, and hardware development. His future plans include becoming a computer engineer.

"Congratulations to Jai McCabe for winning the Congressional App Challenge for the second year in a row," said Rep. Crane. "His skills and work ethic are commendable, and I look forward to seeing him in Washington, D.C. soon!"

Jai's app, Galago, is designed to adapt the keyboard to fit the hand better, increasing typing speed and comfort while reducing pain significantly.

The Congressional App Challenge is considered a prestigious award in student computer science circles. Since its inception, participation has grown significantly.

Most students who participate are just beginning to learn how to code fully functioning apps from start to finish.

As this year's winner of the challenge, Jai will receive recognition for his achievement.
