Prescott will once again be bustling with events this November, starting with Veterans Day on November 11. Mayor Greg Mengarelli emphasized the importance of this day as a time to express gratitude to veterans for their service. "We do so in grand style here in Prescott, with the annual Veterans Day Parade downtown," he said, noting that it starts at 11 a.m. The parade is organized by staff member Michelle Stacy-Schroeder, a veteran herself, along with volunteers and city staff.

Thanksgiving follows shortly after on November 28. The holiday season then kicks off with Arizona Christmas City events, including the longstanding Courthouse Lighting event which marks its 70th anniversary this year.

The festivities continue with the 27th Annual Holiday Light Parade on November 30 at 6 p.m., coinciding with Small Business Saturday. Mayor Mengarelli encouraged support for local businesses during this time.

In December, Prescott will host the 42nd Annual Christmas Parade and the Courthouse Lighting on December 7. "The Courthouse Lighting is one of my favorite traditions," shared Mayor Mengarelli.

Acker Night follows on December 13, featuring musical performances across downtown businesses to benefit youth music scholarships. The Third Annual Prescott ChristKindlMarket will take place on December 14-15.

Finally, the year concludes with the Whiskey Row Boot Drop event on New Year’s Eve, featuring two drops at 10 p.m. and midnight.

The courthouse lights will remain lit nightly through Martin Luther King holiday in January. This recognition from Newsweek Magazine as one of the top ten towns to celebrate Christmas has been well received by Mayor Mengarelli: "I am very pleased to learn of this recognition."
