Arizona Rep. Eli Crane recently said that the Secret Service is refusing to turn over the Secret Service communications from the July 13 assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
“DHS is stonewalling Congress by refusing to give us access to Secret Service’s comms on J13,” Crane posted on X. “At the end of the day, we will continue to be relentless and get to the bottom of what happened. Regardless of the candidate or party, we must ensure this never happens again.”
Last month, Arizona State Reps. Crane and Andy Biggs introduced a resolution to demand the surrender of all Secret Service Records for the July 13 Trump Rally in Butler, PA. During a segment on Real America's Voice, Crane said that the Secret Service still had not responded to the request.
“We do expect them to stonewall like they do every single time,” Crane said on Real America's voice. “But at the end of the day, we've got to be relentless and continue to chip away so that we can get to the bottom of this. As you guys know, this is so much bigger than one individual. This is about making sure that regardless of what candidate or what president is in office at the time, that the Secret Service is able and willing to protect that individual.”
Crane filed his resolution following a visit to the site of the shooting in Butler. Drawing on his experience as a former Navy SEAL sniper, Crane noted numerous lapses in security that left President Trump vulnerable.
Following a House Oversight Committee hearing to investigate lapses in security during the shooting, the Director of the Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle resigned from her position.
