The city of Sedona’s Park and Recreation Department has extended the summer hours at the Sedona Community Pool due to a full staff of lifeguards. The pool will now be open from Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., with recreational swimming available from 1 to 5:15 p.m. On weekends, the pool will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with recreational swimming from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Previously, the pool was closed on Fridays for cleaning and maintenance, but this year it will be closed on Mondays instead to better accommodate residents' schedules.
The Sedona Community Pool now features new inflatables and a basketball goal, enhancing its appeal. Water aerobics, swim lessons, lap swim, and open swim times remain available for the community. Private swim lessons can be scheduled on weekday afternoons. Aqua Zumba classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m., while Aqua Fitness classes take place on Wednesdays and Fridays at the same time.
“We’re so happy to be able to offer extended hours to our community. We’re already seeing more people enjoy the pool, which is always the goal,” said Josh Frewin, parks and recreation manager.
