Washington, DC – Skanda “Jai” McCabe, a 9th Grader at Coconino High School in Flagstaff, AZ, has been announced as the winner of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge for Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District. Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ) made the announcement today, praising Jai's passion for coding, programing, and hardware development.
Representative Crane expressed his admiration for Jai's skills and talent, stating, "It is inspiring to know young individuals like Jai have a passion for coding, programing, and hardware development. Jai's winning app, called Notes2, is an innovative and efficient text editing platform that offers users visually dynamic interfaces. As the winner of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge, Jai will receive several exclusive benefits. His app, Notes2, will be displayed in the US Capitol Building for one year and will be featured on House.gov and CongressionalAppChallenge.us. Additionally, Jai will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement by the office of Representative Eli Crane. He will also be invited to attend #HouseofCode, an event held at the US Capitol Building in April 2024. Furthermore, Jai is entitled to have his registration fees waived if he chooses to copyright his creation, thanks to the ARTS Act Copyright Waiver.
