Enrollment at Ash Fork Joint Unified District schools increased by 2.8% compared to previous school year

There were 293 students enrolled in Ash Fork Joint Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.8% more than the 285 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.9% of them were boys, and 47.1% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 50.2% of the Ash Fork Joint Unified District total enrollment.

Ash Fork Joint Unified District roughly covers schools within Yavapai County and has a main office in Ash Fork.

Among the three schools in Ash Fork Joint Unified District, Ash Fork Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 119 students in the 2022-23 school year.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor marks for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.
