Due to the public commemoration services for the 10th anniversary of the Granite Mountain Hotshots tragedy, the City of Prescott Cortez Street offices, located at 201 S. Cortez Street, which house Utility Billing and the Community Development service counter, will close at 2 p.m. Many Community Development and Utility Billing services are available on our website: www.prescott-az.gov. Regular business hours will resume Monday July 3 at 8 a.m.
Event Information
Friday, June 30, 2023 at 3 PM – Public Commemoration – South side of Courthouse Square. Officials from around the state will be in attendance. Former hotshot Brendan McDonough will deliver the hotshot prayer, and Ryder Ashcraft, the son of one of the fallen hotshots, will deliver brief remarks. The ceremony will conclude with a ringing of the courthouse bells and a flyover from Luke Air Force Base. Following the ceremony, Yavapai County Courthouse bells will ring 19 times at 4:42 p.m. in honor of the fallen heroes. The commemoration will take place on Goodwin Street between Montezuma and Cortez.
