Congratulations to the Dilkon Chapter, Community, Officials, former Delegate Elmer P. Begay, Southwest Region! Another Broadband project is underway in Navajo County! The Dilkon Chapter, local officials, and consultant successfully submitted a $33M grant application to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). The Dilkon Chapter, a Local Governance Certified Chapter, is the first in the Navajo Nation to apply and be awarded. Many stakeholders have assisted and supported the Dilkon Chapter's broadband infrastructure development. Chairman Alberto L. Peshlakai, Navajo County Supervisor, District 2 attended the kick-off meeting to support the Dilkon Chapter and local officials. The project will bring broadband internet to Dilkon Chapter, Greasewood Springs, Indian Wells, Jeddito, Teesto, and White Cone. This broadband project and others like it--such as the County's Middle Mile Network--will bring opportunity and access to residents of Navajo County and begin to create a network of broadband systems that can link together to provide redundancy and improved reliability across the region.
