“When adversity comes to the Warrior…The Warrior steps into it and through it. For adversity will always come to the Warrior until the day the Lord takes the Warrior home.”
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a ceremony in remembrance of our fallen Yavapai County law enforcement officers on Wednesday June 1, 202 at the Prescott Courthouse Plaza.
Sheriff Rhodes, Prescott Police Chief Amy Bonney and Yavapai County Board Vice Chairman Supervisor Gregory invite the public to join them at 4pm at the site of the Yavapai County Fallen Officers Memorial. The memorial, which was dedicated in 2021, features an officer of the territorial era with hat in hand, looking down in honor at an empty pair of boots signifying the deceased officers. All law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in Yavapai County do and will have their names engraved on a plaque next to the empty boots. The base of the memorial bears the words: Lest We Forget.
“It is our privilege to honor fellow officers who have given their lives in service to others,” says Sheriff David Rhodes. “Our communities will never forget their sacrifice.”
The ceremony begins at 4 p.m., with speakers, an invocation, and Honor Guard representatives.
