Apache County Library District issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.
We'd like you to meet Alice Webb, Head of Technical Services with the Apache County Library District.
Alice Webb: "I love my coworkers! My job includes cataloguing our non-fiction books, promotion of our services, and whatever other thing I am assigned. My favorite part of the job is researching and writing Facebook posts for Mondays about artists around Arizona and Apache County.
Libraries are great places to work. With the support of our town council, I began the Virden (NM) Public Library in 1991 and managed it for 7 years, until our family moved away. I've also been the Greenlee County Library Director and Lordsburg/Hidalgo (NM) County Library Director, and have enjoyed them all.
My husband and I have 6 children, and 16 grandchildren, and love spending time with them, especially outdoors camping, hiking and canoeing. We moved to St. Johns from Animas, NM to be closer to our family, and living near them AND the White Mountains and Upper Colorado Plateau has been great! We love the history and scenery of this place.
My main brain focus is painting in watercolor. Landscapes, florals and cacti are my favorite subjects and I crave time in the wild places to soak up the peace, and then take it back with me to the studio. A few pieces of my work are in the Apache County Library District Traveling Art Show this year."
If you see Alice around town, stop and say hi!
