The City of Phoenix recently launched a public information page where residents can get more information and updates on how city funds are being spent and who is being helped financially.
Phoenix officials distributed $293 million in the federal CARES Act funding that it has received, according to the city's website. Moreover, it provides imperative resources that Phoenix residents and businesses need to apply to get help financially amid the pandemic crisis.
For example, the City of Phoenix announced that it received $239 million, in March, from the federal government to assist residents and businesses impacted by the COVID-19 financial crisis.
The Phoenix City Council approved a necessary plan on May 5, earmarking $150 million of $293 million in CARES Act funding secured by the city. The funding went toward much-needed programs created to help citizens and small businesses.
"The U.S. federal government signed into law the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act aimed at providing relief to individuals, businesses and government organizations hit hard by the effects of COVID-19," the website states.
