The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has issued a travel alert for northbound I-17 between Middle Verde Road and the McGuireville Rest Area. Pavement work will necessitate lane restrictions from June 5 to June 19.
Drivers should anticipate the following restrictions from Mondays through Thursdays, between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m.:
- Northbound I-17 will be reduced to one lane in segments between Middle Verde Road and the McGuireville Rest Area (mileposts 292 - 297).
- Drivers are advised to slow down and merge when approaching the work zone.
- The speed limit within the work zone will be lowered.
- A vehicle-width restriction of 16 feet will be enforced.
- Restrictions will be lifted daily after work hours.
No construction is planned for Fridays or weekends.
ADOT encourages drivers to update their subscriber preferences to receive notifications about traffic restrictions on other highway corridors, projects, and studies across Arizona.
