In a recent development, Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) has called for the immediate termination of Nejwa Ali, an Asylum Officer at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The call comes after it was revealed that Ali had posted extremist content on her social media, glorifying a recent terrorist attack in Israel.
In a letter addressed to DHS Secretary Mayorkas, Rep. Crane expressed his concern over the hiring of Nejwa Ali. He highlighted Ali's previous role as a spokeswoman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization and questioned the decision to employ someone with such a background as an Asylum Officer responsible for vetting asylum seekers.
The Daily Wire reported that Ali has a history of posting abhorrently antisemitic and hateful rhetoric on her social media accounts. The situation escalated after the recent attack carried out by Hamas on October 7, which claimed the lives of more than 1,400 people, including 31 Americans. Ali posted a graphic image of armed terrorists paragliding into Israel with the caption "FREE PALESTINE," thereby glorifying and justifying the murderous rampage carried out by Hamas terrorists.
In another disturbing post, Ali expressed her disdain for Israel and anyone who supports it, saying, "F*** Israel and any Jew who supports Israel." These posts have raised serious concerns about Ali's ability to carry out her duties impartially and without bias.
Rep. Crane's call for Ali's termination has garnered support from several other representatives, including Reps. Brecheen (R-OK), Rosendale (R-MT), Ogles (R-TN), Miller (R-IL), Cloud (R-TX), and Norman (R-SC). Congressman Josh Brecheen condemned the hiring decision, stating, "This inexplicable hiring decision by Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security clearly shows that the Biden Administration cannot be trusted to keep our border secure and our country safe. Terrorist sympathizers should not be employed by our federal government, period."
Rep. Eli Crane echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the disgraceful nature of employing someone who supports terrorism and harbors antisemitic beliefs within a critical institution responsible for safeguarding Americans' security. He stated, "The idea that Ms. Ali is responsible for vetting those seeking to enter the United States is chilling."
The controversy surrounding Nejwa Ali's employment has raised questions about the screening process and decision-making within the DHS. It is crucial that individuals entrusted with such significant responsibilities undergo thorough scrutiny to ensure the safety and security of the nation.
As this issue continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the DHS and Secretary Mayorkas will respond to Rep. Crane's calls for Nejwa Ali's termination. The outcome of this situation will undoubtedly have implications for the credibility and integrity of the Department of Homeland Security.
