Recognition of Outgoing Yavapai County Administrator

44

The County Managers Association gathered to congratulate Yavapai County Manager Phil Bourdon on his retirement.

Mr. Bourdon has worked for Yavapai County since 1996. He began as a Hydrologist, moving to the position of Civil Engineer in 1997 and becoming the Assistant County Engineer only a few months later. His next stint was as the County's Regional Roads Program Manager, a position he occupied for 5 years, and he became the Assistant Public Works Director in 2005. After ascending to the Public Works Director & County Engineer role in March of 2005, he later became County Administrator after the resignation of County Administrator Julie Ayers in 2012. At present, Mr. Bourdon is the longest-tenured County Manager in CMA.

County Managers and Administrators lauded Mr. Bourdon for being such a good partner and mentor over the years.  They shared some of the many ways Mr. Bourdon has helped support them, including his willingness to pick up the phone for a new Administrator or Manager at any time. People spoke highly of his calm demeanor, his sense of humor, and his genuine kindness.

Mr. Bourdon has served as a mentor, with his legacy being one of dedicated, impactful service to the people of Yavpai County for decades. CSA will miss him has he continues on in his journey, though the organization retains the ability to call him back into service as a Summit Facilitator. Come back and visit any time, Phil!
