Approaching Winter Storm December 9, 2022

A fast moving winter storm is forecast to impact the area beginning Sunday and lasting through late Monday night, or early Tuesday morning. It will bring with it colder temperatures, gusty winds and as much as 4 inches of snow over its 24-36 hour duration.

Please keep in mind that hazardous driving conditions will persist during the peak of this storm event, forecast at this time, for between late Sunday evening and well into the early morning hours of Tuesday.

Hazards could include periods of blowing snow, low visibility, wet and/or icy roadways as well as temperatures well below freezing.

Please plan for these conditions when you travel and leave plenty of extra time to arrive at you destinations.

Also remember to give our plow operators plenty of room to complete their work, don’t park on the side of the street if it can be avoided and always keep plenty of distance between yourself and other vehicles.

Street Maintenance will continue with updates twice daily until the storm has passed and all City streets are plowed and passable. As always, we thank you for your continued patience during this and all winter storm events, and please drive safely.

Brian Scott, Street Maintenance Superintendent
