City of Prescott issued the following announcement on Sept. 24.
Prescott Regional Airport Director Robin Sobotta reported that a helicopter executed a safe emergency landing at Antelope Hills Golf Course.
According to a statement, at 8:30 a.m. today, a Universal Helicopter R-44 experienced engine difficulties and executed a safe emergency landing on the 4th fairway at Antelope Hills Golf Course. There were no injuries or damage to the aircraft. By 9:21 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had released the aircraft, which was relocated to Prescott Regional Airport.
Sobotta credited the pilots for skillfully landing the aircraft during challenging emergency circumstances, and avoiding impact to local residential areas.
