City of Cottonwood issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
Plan for Interstate 17 overnight lane restrictions between State Route 169 and Sunset Point Rest Area Sept. 20-24
Drivers should allow extra travel time
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers who travel Interstate 17 to plan for overnight southbound lane restrictions between State Route 169 and Sunset Point Rest Area while ADOT crews perform guardrail repair work.
The following restrictions will occur overnight from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.:
• Monday, Sept. 20, to Tuesday, Sept. 21 :
o Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between mileposts 280-277 at State Route 169.
• Tuesday, Sept. 21, to Wednesday, Sept. 22:
o Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Sunset Point Rest Area (milepost 250) and Bumble Bee Road (milepost 248).
• Wednesday, Sept. 22, to Thursday, Sept. 23:
o Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between State Route 169 (milepost 271) and Dugas Road (milepost 269).
• Thursday, Sept. 23, to Friday, Sept. 24:
o Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between mileposts 271 -270 at Dugas Road.
ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around personnel and equipment while pavement repairs are underway.
