Yavapai County issued the following announcement on Sept. 15.
The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors approves a proclamation declaring the month of September as "Suicide Prevention Month"
The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Yavapai County is comprised of representatives from behavioral health organizations, law enforcement agencies, faith communities, health coalitions, Yavapai County Community Health Services (YCCHS) and citizen advocates who are all dedicated to reducing the frequency of suicide attempts and suicide deaths, to assisting the loved ones affected by suicide death, and to providing suicide prevention resources, education and support.
On hand in Cottonwood to receive the signed proclamation was YCCHS Director Leslie Horton and YC Sheriff's Office Executive Director with the Yavapai County Justice and Mental Health Coalition, Beya Thayer
In Prescott, Kelly Legler, Chair of the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Yavapai County (SPCYC) and Chief Clinical Officer at Polara Health
and John Schuderer, SPCYC Advocate, Past Chair were present.
