City of Cottonwood seeking members for its Airport Commission

City of Cottonwood issued the following announcement on Sept. 26.

The City of Cottonwood is seeking applicants to fill one full term seat on its Airport Commission, the term is for a three-year term expiring September 19, 2024. This volunteer position is appointed by the City Council and serves without pay.

The Commission consists of five voting members. Four members shall be tenants/lessees of the Cottonwood Municipal Airport or have a working knowledge of aviation matters. One member should not be required to be a tenant/lessee of the Cottonwood Municipal Airport nor be required to have a working knowledge of airport matters, however, the member must live within the corporate limits of the City of Cottonwood and shall represent the general public interest. This open seat must be filled by a member representing the general public interest and does need to be a tenant/lessee of the Cottonwood Municipal Airport or have working knowledge of aviation matters.

The Commission works in an advisory capacity on matters relating to the Cottonwood Municipal Airport. The Commission supports City Council and staff through assisting in the support and enhancement of the Airport and its operation to deliver optimum services and safety to its citizens and the users of the airport.

Anyone interested in serving the community in this capacity is encouraged to consider applying for this volunteer position. Commission applications are available at the Human Resources Office, located at 821 N. Main Street, by calling 928-340-2713, or online at www.cottonwoodaz.gov/368/Volunteer-Opportunities. Completed applications must be submitted to the Human Resources office no later than 3:00 pm Friday, September 3, 2021.
