Yavapai County issued the following announcement on Aug. 4.
Yavapai County has a new web address, YavapaiAZ.GOV. If you point your browser to Yavapai.US you will get a message that says, “This website has moved” and be directed to click on a link to YavapaiAZ.GOV. Yavapai County Information Technology Services (ITS) Director Pat Galassi said, “On Monday, August 2nd, Yavapai County successfully migrated to our new web domain, YavapaiAZ.GOV.
This change was primarily made to enhance the security of our web presence and increase public trust when visiting our site. The .GOV domain is the official domain used by the federal government and administered by the General Services Administration (GSA). .
GOV domains are also available for use by state and local government entities. Visitors to the old website, Yavapai.US, will now be directed to click on a link to YavapaiAZ.GOV. Visitors are advised to update their browser's shortcuts and favorites.” County Email addresses were changed to reflect the new domain (first.last@yavapaiAZ.gov) schema. Emails sent to the old domain will automatically be forwarded to the new address for a period of time to allow senders to update their contacts.
