Earlier this year, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors approved nearly $18,000 in Yavapai-Apache Nation funding for Verde Valley area organizations, including $3,000 for the Verde Village Property Owners Association (VVPOA).
While the supervisors received the money and were able to allocate it last March, they could not celebrate the distributions because of the COVID-19 pandemic taking root at the time.
So at its regular meeting late last month, the body had the opportunity to hold a check presentation as Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Vice-Chairman Randy Garrison presented the $3,000 check to VVPOA President Patti Greeneltch.
"We are thankful for the partnership with the Yavapai-Apache Nation that allows us the opportunity to support vital groups within our communities,” Garrison said in a press release issued by the Yavapai County government on Aug. 26.
The VVPOA will use its share for renovations to the meeting room in their clubhouse.
