The Town of Prescott Valley published an alert stating that the Sunset Lane Project, which widened and paved roads and included the installation of storm drains and sidewalks on Sunset Lane beginning at Pine View, was completed as planned.

The road was officially reopened on July 31 after the final striping was finished.

The project started in May of last year after utility providers moved and marked electric lines and water pipes. Prescott Valley teamed up with Yavapai County through an intergovernmental agreement in an effort to fund the project.

The much-needed storm drain additions will improve water drainage during major stormwater backflows, officials say.

The added sidewalks keep pedestrians safe as they walk from point A to point B. Moreover, turning lanes will make turning down side streets safer as well.

Town officials urge drivers to observe speed limits throughout the town and remember that it still is a residential area.

Residents who want more information, are directed to contact Ron Pine at Prescott Valley Public Works by calling the office at 928-759-3035 or by email at rpine@pvaz.net.
