As his state begins the process of reopening its economy, Gov. Doug Ducey is asking business leaders to do their part in ensuring the COVID-19 pandemic is held at bay.
The state has taken significant measures to reopen its economy and is prepared to welcome back tourists. Movie theaters, gyms and salons are but a few of the businesses that have reopened their doors. The governor is asking businesses to ensure social distancing standards are met.
“I think there’s going to be a lot of people that are soon going to be fleeing California and Illinois and they’re welcome at your properties and the properties at the other folks who are on the line,” Ducey said, according to the Arizona Daily Sun. “Please make sure there’s good behavior that people are safe and that there’s good optimism so that we don’t give the media the story they are looking for.”
While the governor said a resurgence of the virus could take place in the fall, he felt the implementations of proactive measures would carry over into the summer and fall.
