Dr. Selina Bliss, a Republican elected to the Arizona State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 1st House District, used her Twitter account on April 9, 2026, to comment on legislative efforts regarding short-term rental reforms.
In her first post that day, Dr. Bliss reflected on the legislative process and her disappointment with recent developments: “While I was able to clear hurdles in the State House and advance short-term rental reforms further than in previous sessions, it was even more disheartening that HB2429 (short-term rentals; vacation rentals; occupancy) did not receive a hearing in the Senate. I will make every” (April 9, 2026).
She followed up with another tweet emphasizing her role as the bill’s sponsor: “As the primary sponsor of HB2429 (short-term rentals; vacation rentals; occupancy), no one is more disappointed than me

Later that morning, Dr. Bliss explained her intentions for HB2429: “Indeed, my HB2429 (short-term rentals; vacation rentals; occupancy) was meant to benefit all of Arizona, where personal property rights reign!
Bill changing rules for short-term rentals fails to get hearing in Senate https://t.co/QmKfRjjlNw via @paysonroundup” (April 9, 2026).
Dr. Bliss replaced Judy Burges when she assumed office representing Arizona’s 1st House District after being elected in 2023.
