Rep. Eli Crane, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, addressed several political issues in a series of posts on October 15, 2025. Crane commented on the origins of the Affordable Care Act, speculated about legal actions involving the White House and military pay, and highlighted recent legislative efforts concerning Arizona.
In his first post of the day, Crane questioned the role of special interests in shaping healthcare legislation: “I’m still relatively new to ‘politics.’ Is it true that democrats let insurance companies and special interest groups write Obamacare? If so, that’s probably why it’s not working well for normal people. I bet the people that wrote it are doing well though.” (October 15, 2025)
Later, Crane commented on potential legal actions by Democrats regarding military pay: “Democrats suing the White House for paying the troops would be a new one. I’m sure they could get an activist judge to go along with it though…” (October 15, 2025)
In a subsequent post, Crane referenced recent coverage of the North Rim Restoration Act of 2025 and expressed appreciation for colleagues and local officials: “ICYMI – Great piece by @azfamily highlighting the North Rim Restoration Act of 2025. Thank you to @RepAndyBiggsAZ, @RepGosar, @RepAbeHamadeh, @RepLaMalfa, @RepTiffany, @RepMaloyUtah, as well as the @CoconinoCounty Board of Supervisors for your support.” (October 15, 2025)
Crane was born in Tucson in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley. He succeeded Tom O’Halleran in representing Arizona’s 2nd district.
