Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of tweets on December 5, 2025, addressing issues related to fraud and federal oversight.

In his first post at 13:22 UTC, Crane wrote, “While comfortably generating over a BILLION in fraud…”.

Later that day at 15:12 UTC, he added another brief comment: “Shocker…”

At 16:17 UTC the same day, Crane commented on FBI Director Christopher Wray’s leadership by stating, “Christopher Wray either oversaw a historic failure or a historic cover up. Which do you think it is?”

Crane’s remarks come amid ongoing scrutiny of federal agencies’ handling of fraud and oversight responsibilities. The references to large-scale fraud and questions about accountability reflect concerns raised by some lawmakers regarding government transparency and effectiveness.

Eli Crane was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley. He succeeded Tom O’Halleran as the representative for Arizona’s 2nd congressional district in 2023.
