Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted several messages on his Twitter account on December 18, 2025, addressing issues related to national security and legislative initiatives.
In a post published at 16:26 UTC, Crane wrote: “Predictable swamp behavior. Thanks for flagging, @realannapaulina.”
Later the same day, at 18:12 UTC, he stated: “Democrats allowed 18,000 known or suspected terrorists into our nation. Those are just the ones we know about. We also can’t remove many of them until they commit a crime because Democrats granted them asylum… @bennyjohnson”
At 20:10 UTC, Crane announced new legislation with the message: “Today, I introduced the Detecting and Evaluating Foreign Exploitation of Novel Drones (DEFEND) Act. This legislation would strengthen congressional oversight of emerging drone threats. America must maintain a decisive tactical advantage over our adversaries.”
Crane’s comments come amid ongoing debates in Congress regarding border security and technological advancements in national defense. The DEFEND Act proposal reflects recent concerns about foreign exploitation of novel drone technologies and seeks to increase congressional oversight on such threats.
Born in Tucson in 1980 and currently residing in Oro Valley, Eli Crane has been serving as a member of Congress since replacing Tom O’Halleran in 2023.
