Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, used his social media account on November 6, 2025, to criticize Senate Democrats over the ongoing government shutdown and its connection to healthcare policy.

In a post published at 2:07 a.m. UTC, Crane questioned the logic behind the situation: “How can Obamacare be so great AND the government be shut down because we are in a healthcare crisis? How dumb do senate democrats think the American people are?”

Later that morning, at 2:11 a.m. UTC, he encouraged constituents to contact specific senators about their votes regarding the shutdown: “Be sure to reach out to Senators Kelly and Gallego as well, since they refuse to vote to reopen the government.”

By mid-afternoon on November 6, Crane reiterated his criticism of Senate Democrats’ motives: “Senate democrats refuse to open the government because they are worried about their ‘brand.’ This is all a political game to them.”

Crane has represented Arizona’s 2nd congressional district since replacing Tom O’Halleran in 2023. Born in Tucson in 1980 and currently residing in Oro Valley, Crane continues to be an active voice for his constituents during legislative disputes.
