Rep. Eli Crane, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of comments on social media on September 4, 2025, criticizing federal judges and discussing national security concerns.

In a post published at 12:52 p.m. UTC, Crane wrote: “Activist judges don’t respect the will of the American people. They don’t respect the legislative branch. They don’t even respect their own branch. They only respect their self-serving ability to abuse their titles for partisan gain. This is insane.”

Later that day, at 1:53 p.m., Crane addressed security staffing issues within the Secret Service, stating: “Last night, I joined @mattgaetz on @OANN to discuss solutions to the alarming shortage of counter snipers in the Secret Service. The Secret Service cannot afford to be undermanned for their zero-fail missions. We also war-gamed the upcoming spending battle.”

At 5:10 p.m., he returned to his earlier theme with another pointed remark about members of the judiciary: “Hilarious. These activist judges are exposing themselves for the partisan hacks they truly are.”

Crane’s remarks reflect ongoing tensions between members of Congress and parts of the judiciary regarding perceived partisanship and institutional roles in American governance.

Born in Tucson in 1980 and currently residing in Oro Valley, Eli Crane has represented Arizona’s 2nd district since replacing Tom O’Halleran in 2023.
