Rep. Eli Crane, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, used his social media platform on November 9, 2025, to criticize fellow lawmakers and express concerns about ongoing political issues.
In a post made at 19:15 UTC, Crane questioned the priorities of two Arizona senators by asking, “Will Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego finally put Arizonans first and vote to end Schumer’s historic and harmful shutdown?” At 19:20 UTC the same day, he stated, “Democrats don’t care about hardworking Americans. They care about making insurance companies rich.” Later that evening at 22:56 UTC, Crane added another critique related to healthcare costs: “It’s not even affordable WITH the ‘subsidies.'”
Crane’s remarks come amid ongoing debates in Congress over government funding and health insurance affordability. The reference to “Schumer’s historic and harmful shutdown” points to continued partisan disputes over budget negotiations in Washington.
Eli Crane was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley. He replaced Tom O’Halleran as representative for Arizona’s 2nd district in 2023.
