Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, has recently posted several comments on social media criticizing Democrats over the ongoing government shutdown and related issues.

On November 6, 2025, Crane wrote: “And they’re going to keep calling it a Republican shutdown. Because all they do is lie.”

The following day, he continued his criticism by posting: “Nobody should be surprised by the cruelty of the Democrat shutdown. Just look at what they did to you during COVID and again with the Biden border crisis. They don’t care about you. They care about control.” This message was shared on November 7, 2025.

Later that same day, Crane addressed travel frustrations in another post: “Having a terrible experience at the airport? You have Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego to thank.”

Crane’s remarks reference ongoing partisan disputes regarding responsibility for federal government shutdowns and broader policy disagreements over public health responses during COVID-19 and border security under President Biden’s administration.

Eli Crane began serving as Arizona’s representative for the 2nd congressional district after succeeding Tom O’Halleran in 2023. He was born in Tucson in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley.
