Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, has recently posted several statements on his official X (formerly Twitter) account criticizing Democratic lawmakers over border security and federal funding issues.
On October 9, 2025, Crane shared a brief post: “Sums it up well. https://t.co/OjmGWSPuuF”.
The following day, on October 10, 2025, Crane accused Democrats of mishandling border policy and federal employee compensation. He wrote: “Remember when democrats unleashed the border crisis on everyone?
Well fast forward, and now they don’t want to pay border patrol agents.
All in an effort to keep funding healthcare for illegals.
Think about that. https://t.co/W0oMcIkchl“.
Later that same day, he addressed claims regarding responsibility for a government shutdown: “If anyone tries to tell you that senate democrats didn’t shut down the federal government, just show them this. https://t.co/pXbTdEnh0M”.
Crane’s comments come amid ongoing debates in Congress over border security funding and appropriations for federal agencies. Eli Crane succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative of Arizona’s 2nd district in 2023 and resides in Oro Valley. Born in Tucson in 1980, Crane is currently 43 years old.
