Rep. Eli Crane, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, has recently expressed criticism of his congressional colleagues in a series of posts on social media.
On January 15, 2026, Crane wrote, “I voted yes. But Congress is weak.” Later that morning, he thanked a fellow representative for their support by posting, “Thanks for joining me on this, @RepLuna.” In another post the same day, Crane expanded on his concerns about Congress: “At the end of the day, Congress is full of weak people content managing the slow decline of our country. As long as they keep climbing the ‘DC’ ladder and getting the occasional earmark, they aren’t bothered by the broader structural failures. We need more fighters.”
Crane’s remarks come amid ongoing debates within Congress over legislative priorities and institutional effectiveness. Since replacing Tom O’Halleran in 2023, Crane has positioned himself as a critic of what he describes as complacency among lawmakers.
Born in Tucson in 1980 and currently residing in Oro Valley, Eli Crane has been vocal about his desire for more assertive leadership within Congress.
