Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, used his social media platform to comment on the recent actions of Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego regarding the end of the government shutdown.
On November 10, 2025, Crane posted: “Senators Kelly and Gallego were not two of them.” Later that day, he elaborated in another post: “Last night, Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego were given a chance to be part of the bipartisan coalition that moved to end the longest shutdown in history.
They sided with their party over you and still voted NO.
Please share so Arizonans can see for themselves.”
The following day, November 11, Crane encouraged his followers to read further information by posting: “Everyone should check this out:”
Crane has served as a member of Congress since replacing Tom O’Halleran in 2023. Born in Tucson in 1980, he currently resides in Oro Valley. The recent government shutdown referenced by Crane is described as the longest in U.S. history. His posts highlight partisan divisions among Arizona’s congressional delegation during efforts to resolve the impasse.
