Rep. Eli Crane, U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district, posted a series of statements on his social media account regarding the recent federal government shutdown and its resolution.

On November 12, 2025, Crane criticized the labeling of the shutdown as partisan, writing, “And they still have the audacity to call it a ‘Republican shutdown.’ Shameless…”

Hours later, on November 13, 2025, he announced the end of the event: “The longest federal government shutdown in U.S. history has ended.”

Following this development, Crane reflected on his actions during the legislative process. On November 13, 2025, he stated: “Last night, I once again voted to keep the federal government funded. The American people should never be used as leverage to advance a political agenda. Thank you to the amazing people of #AZ02 for supporting one another during this challenging time.”

Crane has represented Arizona’s 2nd District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Tom O’Halleran. Born in Tucson in 1980 and currently residing in Oro Valley, Crane has served as a public official for several years.
