Rep. Eli Crane, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, recently shared his views on crime rates in Washington D.C., support for Vice President comments, and national debt policy through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On August 28, 2025, Crane commented on crime in the nation’s capital, writing: “The murder rate in Democrat-run Washington D.C. was out of control.
Citizens lived in constant fear as local officials doubled down on their soft-on-crime policies.
All it took was a new President and the National Guard to restore law and order to our nation’s capital.”
Later that day, he expressed agreement with a statement from the Vice President by posting: “Spot on, @VP.” (August 28, 2025).
The following morning, Crane addressed fiscal issues at the federal level: “You know what’s even rarer? The size of our national debt.
I applaud this move by President Trump.” (August 29, 2025).
Crane has served as the representative for Arizona’s 2nd District since replacing Tom O’Halleran in 2023. Born in Tucson in 1980 and currently residing in Oro Valley, Crane is among several lawmakers commenting publicly on federal crime and fiscal policy debates.
