Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, used his social media account on August 29, 2025, to voice concerns about stock trading by members of Congress and to share patriotic messages.

In a post made at 18:01 UTC, Crane stated: “Sign me up. Members of Congress should not be trading stocks. They should be balancing the budget.” Later that evening, he published two brief posts containing only the American flag emoji and a link: ” https://t.co/iWgH3MOwPy” at 20:22 UTC and ” https://t.co/uh6zPpwNlK” at 20:37 UTC.

Crane has represented Arizona’s 2nd District in Congress since defeating Tom O’Halleran in the 2022 election cycle and taking office in January 2023. Born in Tucson in 1980, Crane is currently 43 years old and resides in Oro Valley.
