Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of updates on October 16, 2025, addressing federal policy and local disaster recovery efforts.
In a post from the morning of October 16, Crane criticized Democratic policies regarding taxpayer subsidies and healthcare. He wrote, “Democrats are fully aware that providing taxpayer subsidies for something means YOU are still paying for the increased cost. They just don’t respect you enough to be honest about it. They are desperate to hide the fact that Obamacare has failed.”
Later that day, Crane discussed his office’s involvement in disaster response. He stated, “My team and I are focused on helping expedite the recovery from the Dragon Bravo Fire at the North Rim, as well as assisting those impacted by recent flooding in and around Gila County. Thank you for having me on to discuss, @JeffOravits.” The mention refers to recent natural disasters affecting northern Arizona communities.
By the evening, Crane provided an update regarding federal assistance for affected residents. He announced, “UPDATE – @SBAgov has extended in-person meeting hours at the Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce. Representatives are now available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m MST. If you have questions or need assistance with loan applications, visit https://t.co/ai169Fdv0I.”
Crane, who was born in Tucson in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley, has focused part of his congressional work on disaster relief for Arizona communities. He succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative of Arizona’s 2nd district in 2023.
