Rep. Eli Crane, who represents Arizona’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from government shutdown negotiations to disaster response efforts in Gila County.
On October 4, 2025, Crane commented on political developments by posting: “Pretty weird.”
Later that day, he addressed the ongoing government shutdown and its impact on Arizona residents. In his post from October 4, 2025, Crane stated: “A prolonged government shutdown hurts Arizonans. I urge Senators Kelly and Gallego to stop playing political games and vote to reopen the government. The House passed a plan on Sept. 19th. Only five more democrat senators need to defy Chuck Schumer for this to end.”
On October 5, 2025, following severe flooding in Gila County, Crane described his recent meetings with local leaders regarding recovery efforts: “Yesterday, I met with local leaders in Globe and Miami following the devastating floods in Gila County. My team and I are in constant communication with local, state, and federal officials on recovery efforts. Our prayers are with everyone impacted by this tragic disaster.”
Crane has served as the representative for Arizona’s 2nd district since replacing Tom O’Halleran in 2023 (https://ballotpedia.org/Eli_Crane). He was born in Tucson in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley.
