The Prescott City Council is set to review proposed changes to the citywide fee schedule, including a new method for setting airport hangar rental rates. The council previously adopted the FY26 Citywide Fee Schedule on May 27, 2025, with an effective date of July 1. This schedule introduced a methodology that moves away from flat monthly rates in favor of a tiered square-foot rate structure for airport hangars.
According to the proposal, this adjustment would allow rents to reflect factors such as hangar size and condition. While similar square-foot rates were used in prior calculations, officials state that the updated approach offers more flexibility by tailoring monthly rents based on each hangar’s specific characteristics.
“The change would replace flat monthly rates with a tiered square-foot rate structure – allowing rents to be adjusted based on hangar size and condition. These same square-foot rates were used in calculating the monthly rates in the previously adopted fee schedule; however, this updated approach provides greater flexibility by tailoring monthly rents to the unique condition, rehabilitation status, and size of each individual hangar,” according to city documents.
The council will discuss and may adopt these changes at its regular meeting scheduled for September 9, 2025 at 3:00 p.m., held at City Hall located at 201 N. Montezuma Street in Prescott. If approved, new or increased fees will take effect thirty days after adoption.
A copy of the proposed fees and supporting documentation has been filed with the Office of the City Clerk at Prescott City Hall.
