The Prescott City Council announced on Mar. 27 that it will consider adopting new and increased fees and charges as part of the Citywide Fee Schedule for the fiscal year 2026-27. The proposed changes are scheduled to be discussed, and possibly adopted, at the regular City Council meeting on May 26 at Prescott City Hall.

This update is important as it may affect a range of city services used by residents, businesses, and visitors. If approved, the new fee schedule will take effect on July 1 after council adoption.

The city maintains several public facilities such as parks, recreational areas, and an airport according to the official website. Essential municipal services provided by Prescott include police and fire protection, water and wastewater management, waste collection, recreation programs, economic development efforts focused on tourism growth, all overseen by a council-manager government structure with an elected mayor and city council who appoint a city manager according to the official website.

Prescott also emphasizes historic preservation while supporting community quality of life through tourism initiatives and public participation opportunities such as Citizen’s Academy sessions or other public meetings according to its official website. The city’s history includes serving as a territorial capital according to information available from its official site.

The proposed schedule of fees is available for review online ahead of the May meeting.
